ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Born in Hokkaido in 1996, Aya learned filmmaking and writing at Toho Gakuen Film Techniques Training College in Tokyo. In 2016, she directed Tokeru, a medium-length graduation project film, which has captured the spotlight at major film festivals across Japan. On the recommendation of acclaimed director Naomi Kawase, who is known for her films such as 'The Mourning Forest', the film was officially nominated for Cinéfondation of the 70th Cannes Film Festival. 'A Crimson Star' is Aya Igashi's feature film debut.
