ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Carlos Jiménez, born in Madrid in 1995, is a young Spanish director. He graduated in Journalism and Audiovisual Communication and holds a master's degree in Film Direction from the EFTI School of Cinema and Photography. From a young age, he always showed an interest in storytelling and, over time, realized that the stories he was truly passionate about were those that connected, in one way or another, with human emotions. Those stories that, with luck, would tug at the viewer's heartstrings.

DIRECTOR'S NOTE
With this short film I always wanted to talk about human relationships in our time, specifically within the LGBT community. Loneliness, the difficulty of expressing our feelings, the lack of commitment... Ulises is blindly convinced that David will give him a chance one day, a chance to feel loved... but this man is only playing with him. The term “fuckboi” always felt very fitting to me - I’ve used it many times with friends to refer to guys like David - and I think the title of the short film is special and works very well. It’s not a short that leans heavily on comedy, but any viewer who has lived through a similar situation can watch it from a different perspective, and smile when they see the title at the end.
