One sweltering summer, from his window Alexander spies a boy on a diving board in the distance. Lacking the courage to go to him, he dances alone in his room, until his steps draw him across the sands outside, and eventually, to the boy on high. Climbing the ladder, he asks the boy: "Would you dare to jump if there were water?"

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Marc Wagenaar is a screenwriter and director of several short films, starting his own film production company, the Berlin-Amsterdam based Holy Birds. Marc received his Bachelor in Communication in his hometown, Nijmegen. He completed internships for Sound Designer Adrian Baumeister ('Toni Erdmann') at The Post Republic and Berlinale Panorama and had many different roles on film sets before he founded his own film production company, Holy Bird Film Productions. Under this name he wrote, directed and produced his short films 'Holy Bird' starring Rolf Kanies ('Der Untergang') and 'The Eggman' starring Lars Rudolph ('Lola Rennt'). Since completing his well-received film 'Dante vs. Mohammed Ali' and 'Beautiful Alexander' he is currently writing his first feature film.
