ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
|
Stéphane Olijnyk is a French short filmmaker who also directs and edits film trailers, works for the Franco-German news program Arte as an editing technician, and is president of the COMBAT film festival in Josselin, Brittany. For his film 'Chameleon' (Change-couleur), he “wanted to talk about homophobia, and in particular about how homosexuals behave like homophobes in societies that are themselves homophobic.” The three main roles are played by a Franco-Cameroonian and two Franco-Ivorians. "We wanted as many characters as possible to be played by Ivorians. We held the auditions there. We didn't shout from the rooftops that our film dealt with homosexuality, but we obviously told the actors."
