Fall in love all over again with the charming coming of age romance ‘Cherry Tobacco’ (Kirsitubakas) as we follow Laura, a shy small-town girl who craves adventure. One day Laura's friend invites her on a hike with middle-aged nature-lover Joosep. The two couldn't be any more different, but much to her surprise, Laura begins to have feelings for Joosep. Is she in love? Or is he just a step along the road towards becoming an adult?

ABOUT THE DIRECTORS

Andres Maimik (b. 1970) studied at Tartu Art College and the Estonian Institute of Humanities. He graduated in 2009 from Tallinn Pedagogical University with a degree in directing documentaries. He has worked as a journalist, film director and editor, scriptwriter and copywriter. Katrin Maimik (b. 1982) is a director and screenwriter. Katrin received a bachelor’s degree in dramatic theory from the University of Tartu in 2005 and an MA in scriptwriting from Tallinn University’s Baltic Film and Media School in 2013. CHERRY TOBACCO is their first co-written and co-directed full-length feature, it premiered at Karlovy Vary IFF. They are currently working on their next project, IN HOTELS, about a married pair of actors who can no longer bear to be with each other and without each other.
