Nathan, in his twenties and still studying, feels out of place in his life. To reflect on his uncertain future, he decides to go on a solo vacation to Corsica. Under the scorching summer sun, the introverted young man meets Léana and Félix, with whom he shares a shabby room in a youth hostel. The duo warmly welcomes him as if they were old friends, which unsettles Nathan. Initially distant, he grows fond of this duo, who are the opposite of his temperament. Gradually, an unexpected relationship develops between them, which deeply affects him.

DIRECTOR'S NOTE
The origin 'Countercurrents' lies in my personal observation that I often tend to position myself according to what is expected of me. It's not that I am forced into these roles, but instinctively, out of fear of being unconventional. I have often placed myself in ways that reassure society. Pursuing higher education, adhering to the norms of masculinity, being in a relationship, watching the "right" films, reading the "right" books, etc. I found it surprising that I put myself in these positions without anyone necessarily asking me to. I wanted to highlight this theme while also addressing the evolving nature of today's youth. Young people are too often caricatured as superficial and disconnected from the world. Inspired by the portrayal of youth in 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower', I wanted to depict a youth that differs from its usual representations. In 'Countercurrents', I sought to pay tribute to this unashamed and engaged youth, who defend the causes they care about without fitting into the boxes imposed on them.
