DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT

When I wrote 'Different Shores', I thought about my relationship with my mother and how close we are. We are not ashamed to take our clothes in front of each other, even though I'm 24 and she is 56 Years old. When we meet, she doesn't stop talking about her life. Sometimes, I feel that she is in need of an attention she did not receive when she was a child. Over time she tells me about her life in more and more detail. Sometimes I pretend to listen. It's important to me to make her feel happy and it's important to her that I will be all the things I want to be and all the things that she wants me to be, yet I don't understand how this combination can work. What if I tell her all of the things that I'm afraid to be? What if I told her that I experienced deep emotions towards a woman some time ago? My mother knows everything about me, about all the men that I met. What if I was attracted only to women? Maybe I felt that way towards a woman because my mother is a woman and women symbolize love, security, and fear to me. Maybe I feared that woman because my mother Is with me everywhere I go, she is part of me, my genes, and I feel very much like her. I think after she dies, I will still hear her.
