In the maternity ward, Céline awaits the arrival of her first child. It is Jeanne, her partner, who will bring her into the world. At night, in the entrance hall of the hospital, she meets men who are waiting, just like herself.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT

After studying art history, Alice Douard attended La Fémis in the directing department. Her graduation film, 'Extrasystole', was acquired by Arte and selected at numerous festivals, such as Clermont-Ferrand, Angers, and Pantin. She went on to direct two other short films, 'Girls' and 'Due West', which explore some of her favourite themes: womanhood, the search for identity within a group, and family relationships. In 2017, Arte entrusted her with the creation of a telefilm, 'Robin'. In parallel, Alice Douard is as a script supervisor on shorts and feature films. 'L’attente' (Expecting) is her fourth short film. It won the César award for best fiction short film.
