ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

An actor by training, Florent Gouëlou graduated from the Comédie de Saint-Étienne in 2009 and then began a Masters in Cinema at La Sorbonne Nouvelle. In 2011 he joined Les Films du Bois sacré as production assistant and in 2013 joined the direction department of La Fémis, from which he graduated in 2017 with the film 'A Man my Son'. While writing this film, he discovered the Parisian drag queen scene. Since then, he has directed two more short films, 'Beauty Boys' and 'First Love', the second of which he will be revisiting in his first feature film 'Three Nights a Week', which rejoins the characters five years later. By night, Florent often re-invents himself as Javel Habibi - an Arab-Andalusian drag queen.
