ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Louise Lever is a New Zealand filmmaker who prioritises the female gaze and LGBTQIA+ stories in her work. Her short film “Joey’s Heart” has screened at BFI Flare Film Festival, Roze FilmDagen, and numerous festivals internationally. While living in Melbourne she made her debut feature documentary film “Revolt She Said” – a portrait of contemporary perspectives on the feminist movement. The film features interviews with trailblazing women such as Former Prime Minister of New Zealand Helen Clark and award-winning journalist Alison Mau. It was screened on Rialto Channel and TVNZ On Demand. Louise is currently working on a feature narrative and finishing a new feature documentary film.
