Manuel (Carlos Flores Jr) is a gay Latino teen who lacks guidance and support. Even though his mother, Anna (Virginia Blanco) deeply cares for him, she is only able to prove and instill her love through videotapes made from afar. Keeping his sexuality and boyfriend (Connery Morano) a secret from his homophobic father (Roy Manzanares), Manuel must decide the life he wants to live or end.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Nicolas Jara is a Bay Area-based filmmaker and content creative specializing in visual media. Focusing on character-driven stories that give a voice to under-represented and marginalized peoples, he creates visual works that explore different foundations of knowledge and ways of being. He received the Barbara Hammer Filmmaker Grant for his first short "Guardian", which allowed the film to enter the festival circuit, receiving acceptances from over a dozen festivals and garnering awards.
Nicolas is currently developing several projects as he continues to work as a freelancer in film production. |
