One summer evening in a small town in France, two teenage boys, Clarinet and Piano, say goodbye. For twelve years, they rejoin each other at irregular intervals in the same town, discussing their ambitions as they drift apart.

Michaël Dacheux was born in 1978 in the Landes region of France, which he left at the age of eighteen to study Film in Nîmes, Montreal, then Toulouse. He moved to Paris and worked as an intern on various shoots. In 2008, he directed his first film, 'Commune Presence', shot between Paris, the Landes and the Larzac. Filmed in 2011 in his hometown, Mont-de-Marsan, 'Sur le Départ' won the jury prize at the LGBT Film Festival in Paris. In addition, Michaël Dacheux supervises workshop films with the Cinémathèque française, Ciclic and Paris Diderot University. He is also a member of the editorial board of Vertigo magazine.
