DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT
Even though Narciso is an LGBTQ+ film, the story does not deal with the idea of the lesbian relationship it portrays. Instead, it deals with the difficulties every person faces while entering a new romance – the fear and doubts which accompany every falling in love, the need for validation and being understood and, ultimately (maybe), getting hurt. 'Narciso' was written from the bottom of my bleeding heart. I made this film while studying in Denmark, where I myself was a foreigner. I fell in love with a local whose language I did not speak and I needed to create a space where a new language, our language, could be created. This film was written based on that amazing yet emotional experience, which I think many can identify with.
