DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT

When I first started writing this short film I was always interested in trying to explore the confusion and isolation of attempting to understand your sexual identity when you're at a vulnerable age. A lot of the basis of the film was inspired by my own personal experience and context; the environments I grew up in, the expectations of young girls, of hedonism, the status of sexualisation and experience. You find yourself exposed to a lot of pressure at a young age, especially as a teenager trying to discover and be true to yourself when there's this hurricane of imaginary forces telling you that the way to be loved and to belong is to repress and not recognise these vital parts of yourself.
