ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Daniel Mateo Vallejo was born in Medellín in 1994, graduating in Audiovisual and Multimedia Communicatons from the University of Antioquia. 'The Grey Zones' was made as part of laureate short film diploma and had its international premiere at the 21st Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival. In 2018 Mateo signed the Manifesto for a (new) Colombian Queer Cinema. In 2019 he was selected to be part of the Academy Queer Programme at the International Queer & Migrant Film Festival in Amsterdam. He's currently post-producing his first queer short film "Antes de las cosas" under the name of Cinespécimen, a production company experiment he co-founded with friends in Medellín and Bogotá.
