ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Bogdan Alecsandru is a queer Romanian filmmaker. After graduating with a BA in Film and Television Directing from UNATC "I. L. Caragiale", he continued his studies with an MA in Film Directing. His short films have been screened at festivals such as Karlovy Vary IFF, Sarajevo IFF, Transilvania IFF and Fantastic Fest. 'The Night Practice' was nominated for Best Short Film at the Romanian Gopo Awards. In 2024, Bogdan was 1 of the 10 filmmakers selected to be part of Future Frames: Generation NEXT of European Cinema program at Karlovy Vary IFF. He was also selected to be part of the Directors Summit in the Talents Sarajevo program the same year. He explores the themes of teenagehood, queerness, intimacy and anxiety's dark undertones.
