Cleo Julia Mullis (1997) creates fiction films and documentaries, in which she transforms social themes into a vibrant and playful form. She is fascinated by identity, individuality, loneliness and the tangled emotions surrounding interpersonal relationships. Her work is often autobiographical and intimate, with influences from theater and internet culture. Besides directing films, she writes texts, edits short films and creates visual worlds with animation. Cleo is a modern director and makes no distinction between fact and fiction; her genuine perspective and keen eye for authentic stories are her constant values.
